Yesterday’s Treasures Thrift Center produced over $45,000 during 2010. This success is due to the LORD’s blessing, faithful Volunteers and amazing donations on a daily basis!!
Quality furniture and household items donated are the backbone of the revenue generated by Yesterday’s Treasures. As more people become aware of Yesterday’s Treasures Thrift Center, we hear over and over that this little shop is their favorite store due to the quality of product and a pricing strategy to benefit the working poor.
It has been called “The Little Store with a Heart”, and this is so true.
Each week, rain, snow or shine, Volunteers come to participate on the LORD’s project.
Clients in crises motivate volunteers to overcome diminished energy, bodies that ache and have impaired physical strength to serve those less franchised. We provide clean, quality coats, shoes and clothing to people just released from a halfway house or incarceration.
When Human Services delivers grandchildren to grandparents for care, we provide clothing, bedding and sometimes beds. It is a joy to provide layettes for new born babies….how can we do this? Because we have volunteers that make receiving blankets and assemble layettes color coded for boy or girl. We have volunteers that make and donate hand-made quilts from fabric donations; the quilts are given to fire victims or domestic violence victims. Another volunteer made over 300 Christmas stockings which we filled with donated toys and gifts for gifting to needy children, as well as hand knitted stocking caps and mittens donated by another volunteer.
All donations to our thrift center are tax deductable. Be sure to ask for a tax recipt when you donate.
Please call for an appointment if you want to bring in large items or have them picked up.
